We want to spend an afternoon front of house today.

We have planned to meet and greet our neighbours and friends, weather permitting of course.

We will be around a fire, with mulled wine, non-alco berry punch and yogi-tea, nibbling on some home bake “Weihnachtsplätzchen” and perhaps enjoy some music too, singing and making . . .

Lets see what happens.

Today's calendar treat :

Ivor Kallin & John Bisset go ding dong

..by means of glossolalia, mock violence, postures and gestures,
the pair manage to hover around the cusp that separates seriousness from humour.

Both are musicians and poets improvising wise, yet Ding Dong is well choreographed to make it work. Anyway … I am sure you can work it out even if you don't do work out.

How did this get here ?

John is a broadcaster colleague/friend who shared improvised stories on air, like a traditional storyteller, just that his stories are not traditional storyteller stories.
He can make off-the-cuff impromptu soapy bits of rainbow appear,  to impress evil swines or princesses alike, anyone who is lacking a certain breadth and depth of emotions in their hearts.
And he even fixes these 'mankos' by stitching frogs in a particular way that balances the love and hate, the anger and kindness . . . to get it just right.

Apart from being brilliant artist-menschen in sound, Ivor and John produced a series of short videos as TwoThirteen a few years ago, some of which were Xmas-themed, or rather Xmessy, others aren't. Maybe I’ll dig out another one some day.

Enjoy this one for a start, and have a happy advent today.

PS: perhaps it is important and worth to keep the credits of this clip in tact ? Here :

A Carol to end all Carols... Filmed on location in Gibson Gardens, London, where we live and love. With thanks to: The Bosnia and Herzegoina Charity Shop for the costume loan, Pinball Geoff for the Top Hat, Gwilym Lloyd for tree lights and the bricks (what bricks?) and Natasha Tauber for hat, camera and laughing at us.
